THE METHOD OF DIVERGENCE FROM REGIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR SOCIAL WORK ACTIVITIES WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION: A CASE STUDY FROM TEKIRDAG (2008-2017)
Abstract
In this study, with the example of Tekirdag application, which for the last ten years in the social work activities without accommodation owns an increasing importance, according to the current location quotient, the beginning of low specialization/ specialization/ high specialization/ and full specialization were focused on determining the degree of divergence. The ten-year data set (2008-2017) was compiled from the SSI statistics annuals. As the statistical method, the location quotient (LQ) technique has been used in defining the level of regional specialization. The location quotient in social work activities without accommodation in Tekirdag from 2008 to 2017 is accrued from 0.2 to 0.6 and the lower limit of 0.7 has not been reached any year. On the other hand, despite the 72% increase in employment in the whole city, the increase in social work activities without accommodation has exceeded 32.3 times. This increase is above the 13.5-fold increase in Turkey in social services in the whole field of activity. The current employment level in Tekirdag from 2008 to 2017, is diverged 49-685 person from 0,7 border, 87-1223 person from 1,25 border, 139-1956 person from the 2,0 border and 208-2934 person from the 3,0 border.
