SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR GELİŞME AMAÇLI EĞİTİMDE ETKİLİ BİR ÖRNEK: “KÜÇÜK AĞAÇ’IN EĞİTİMİ”

Abstract

Yeni yüzyılda insanların doğa ile olan ilişkileri, ekosistem ile ilişkili önemli bir sorunhaline gelmiştir. Bunun sonucunda dünya çapında bir politika haline gelen‘sürdürülebilir gelişme’ kavramı birçok ülkenin ortak kavramı olmuştur. Geleceknesillerin ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilmeleri için var olan olanakları tüketmeden,günümüzün ihtiyaç duyduklarını sağlamak olarak tanımlanan sürdürülebilirgelişmenin, ekonomik, toplumsal ve çevresel olmak üzere üç boyutu olduğubelirtilmektedir. Bu nedenle geleneksel çevre eğitimi yerini, ‘Sürdürülebilir GelişmeAmaçlı Eğitim’ yaklaşımına bırakmıştır. Bu yaklaşımda etkili uygulamalaragereksinim vardır. Bu sebeple, içinde doğaya karşı farklı bir yaklaşım bulunduran“Küçük Ağaç’ın Eğitimi” adlı kitap, araştırma kapsamında incelenmiştir. Nitel olarakyürütülen çalışma, durum deseni olarak tasarlanmıştır. Doküman incelemesininkullanıldığı araştırmada, betimsel analiz ve söylem analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanınsonucunda “Küçük Ağaç’ın Eğitimi” adlı kitapta çocukların, sürdürülebilir gelişmeamaçlı eğitimlerine örnek teşkil edebilecek etkili uygulamalar olduğu belirlenmiştir.Bu uygulamalarla ve çocuk katılımını esas alan programlarla çocukların çevrelerinekarşı daha duyarlı, sorumlu bireyler olmalarının önü açılacaktır.

In the new century, relations of humans with nature have become an important problem associated with the ecosystem. As a consequence, the concept of ‘sustainable development’ which is a worldwide policy has become the common concept of many countries. Defined as meeting today’s needs without consuming existing resources for meeting the needs of next generations; ‘sustainable development’ has three dimensions of the development as economic, social and environmental. Thus, conventional environmental education has been replaced by the approach of ‘Education for Sustainable Development’. This approach requires efficient applications. Therefore, the book “The Education of Little Tree” including a different approach towards nature was examined within the scope of this study. The study conducted qualitatively was designed as a case pattern. In the study using document analysis, descriptive analysis and discourse analysis were conducted. As a result of the study, it was determined that the book of “The Education of Little Tree” contained efficient applications that would set an example to children’s trainings for sustainable development. These applications and programs based on children’s participation will enable children to become responsible individuals who are more sensitive to their environment.
