Besse'nin Türkçe-Fransızca-Macarca grameri ve sözlüğü

Abstract

Jean Charles de Besse'nin 1765'te doğduğu kayıtlarda geçer. Türk dünyasını, coğrafyasını gezen, etnik unsurları ve kültürleri iyi tanıyan, dillerini iyi bilen bir kişidir. Besse, 5 Ocak 1829 tarihinde Abrégé de la Grammaire Turque adlı eseri yazmıştır. Eserin tam adı Abrégé de la Grammaire Turque Contenant Outre le Principe de Cette Langue, des Idiotismes, des Discours Familiers et un Petit Vocabulaire en Français, Turc et Hongrois'dır. Fransızca ve Macarca anlatımlı Türkçe bir gramer kitabıdır. Besse, kitabın ön sözünde Türk dilinin ilkelerini öğrenmek isteyenler için Türkçenin ilk kavramlarını vermeyi amaçladığını belirtmiştir. 14 bölüm ve bu bölümlere bağlı alt bölümlerden meydana gelmiştir. 14. bölümden sonra söz varlığı yer almıştır. Besse'nin eserinde kullandığı transkripsiyon sisteminin, o devir Avrupasında Türkçenin seslerini karşılamak için yaygın olarak kullanılan sistemden pek farkı yoktur. Eserde, a < e, i < u, c < g gibi ses değişmeleri; Ø < i, Ø < a, e gibi ses düşmeleri; y < Ø, u < Ø gibi ses türemelerine Fransızca ve Macarca karşılıklarıyla örnekler verilmiştir. Kelime türleri yedi kısımda ele alınmış; devamında cümle kuruluşu anlatılmıştır. İlişki sözlerine, deyimlere, atasözlerine, mecaz anlamlı kelimelere, benzetmelere, kalıplaşmış ifadelere örnekler verilmiştir. Ayrıca sözlük başlığıyla Fransızca-Türkçe-Macarca ve Türkçe-Fransızca-Macarca sırayla verilmiş sözlükler bulunmaktadır. Birkaç diyalog haricinde eserde metne yer verilmemiştir.
